Mukteshwar is a small town in the state of Uttarakhand, It gets it’s name from a 350-Years-Old temple of Lord Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town at 7500 ft (2286mt) above sea. The place is 51 KM from Nanital, 72 km from Haldwani & 350 Km from New Delhi.
Mukteshwar is rich in scenic beauty with magnificent views of the snow caped Himalayas including the worlds 2nd highest peak, Mt. Nanda Devi.The place is full of Apple Orchards, plum & peers on terrace gardens cut into the hillsides.
The climate of the town remains pleasant all over the year with a maximum of 30 Deg. C & Minimum Of -7 Deg C on an average. The town also receives an annual precipitation of 1.5 Inch. In winters the town is showered with heavy snow falls & in-frequent snow-storms once/twice an year.The local population of the town is around 600 people. The place is densely forest area with small patches of agricultural land.
